It’s almost Halloween!

As you can tell from the decorations in Morton Williams or the hilarious costume ideas on buzzfeed, Halloween is almost upon us.  Like many critical thinking feminists, I often get fed up with all the sexist halloween costumes.  Which is why I was so excited to hear about http://takebackhalloween.org.  This site offers tons of examples of costumes that honor brave queens, goddess, and heroines from all different time periods and cultures.

Another great way to celebrate the Halloween season is to watch a scary movie.  While I personally have been known to scream at children’s movies, other people enjoy real horror movies.  Sadly, many of these horror movies contain graphic scenes of sexual violence that can be triggering for some.  For some old-fashioned horror movie fun that leaves out the sexual violence, check out this list of trigger free horror flicks.

And last but not least, don’t forget to join us for…
