International Women’s Day

I am currently studying abroad in Kenya, and yesterday a lot of stuff was going on in Nairobi to celebrate International Women’s Day.  I could write a super long post about all the incredible things women are doing here, but instead I’m just going to share what my homestay mother said.  My homestay brother asked what International Women’s Day is, and she said “It’s our day…it’s your turn to be seen and not heard.”

Amazing.
