How exciting! After AGES of dicking around on the subject, the NY senate is finally voting on the same sex marriage bill today. The outcome is unknown–there are several Republicans AND Democrats who could vote either way. Let’s hope it passes, though–unlike Maine and California, New York doesn’t have a referendum process that would allow voters to change the decision–if it gets voted it, it’ll be almost impossible to undo!
UPDATE: The New York State Senate has, unfortunately, voted against same-sex marriage. I’m totally bummed out that NONE of the Republicans voted for it. Come on, guys! First California, then Maine, now New York–disappointments from all sides.
